Flying squirrels in the Loblolly Pines!

Aside from filming wildlife for PBS, Ray and I keep busy by participating in and overseeing an array of wildlife research projects. My favorite being a project in Bastrop State Park, which examines the effects of a catastrophic fire on small mammals. During the course of our time spent in Bastrop State Park, Ray and I have gotten to film the endangered Houston Toad as well as a southern flying squirrel that found its way into one of our live traps. Though quick in their movements these animals are a treat to watch!
