I was able to photograph and video a fair number of reptiles thanks to my graduate student, Jarret Kachel.  He and some friends went out yesterday for a snake count and brought back a number of critters to photograph.  I hope you like the pictures.  I have a lot more to post.  I was out before light and photographed black-crowned night herons, cattle egrets, and snowy egrets at a rookery.  You wouldn’t expect these long-necked, fragile looking birds to be violent but they were very aggressive to the point of pulling out feathers.
